Big Tent Summer School

Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd July

The Big Tent Summer School is a learning programme that has been organised by Transition Scotland and One Planet Food. Over the three days we want to bring together participants interested in learning, development and sharing skills for low carbon living. The Summer School takes place in Falkland in the run up to Big Tent so you can come early, enjoy the vibe then settle down to a fantastic weekend of festivities afterwards!

There will be four strands to the programe and whilst participants will sign up for one, there will be opportunities to come together as a group to network. The strands are:

  • Strategies and skills for achieving a holistic and fairer food system (30 places)
  • Practical skills needed for living without oil (50 places)
  • Transition Thinking (16 places)
  • A dedicated children's programme (20 places)

All programmes will engage head, hands and heart with workshops such as drystane dyking, gardening, animal husbandry, willow weaving, bee-keeping mixed with debates and discussion on policy and solutions.

The Big Tent Summer School cost covers camping facilities and all meals over the three days.

More information including cost, bursaries and how to book to follow very soon.
